For a healthy home

VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS (vocs)

acetone covButane, propane, ethanol, acetone, formaldehyde, benzene, acetaldehyde, toluene, tetrachloroethylene, xylene, ethylbenzene, glycol ethers: a wide range of VOCs (chemical products) are found in our immediate environment. New furniture, textiles, mattresses, glues and varnishes, floating floors, pressed wood and other construction materials contain VOCs. Their vapours are toxic and carry serious health hazards.

  • Dangers
They cause irritations, allergies, nausea and respiratory problems.
  • How do I protect myself from VOCs?
Choose furniture without formaldehyde, used furniture, furniture in solid wood and environmentally-friendly paints and coatings. Have adequate ventilation. Since labelling of VOCs is not yet mandatory, once in the store, you must ask to look at the Material Safety Data Sheet of the product (MSDS) and buy products that indicate low VOC content or VOC-free.
