BACKSPLASH TO INCREASE THE DURABILITY OF THE KITCHEN
The backsplash is the vertical panelling affixed to the back of the counter, sink and stove top. Since this surface is frequently splashed with water or food, it must be coated with a durable material that is both resistant to water and stains. Some countertops are already fitted with a backsplash. The backsplash must be a minimum height of 15cm (6inches). Ideally, choose locally available materials, manufactured from recycled materials without VOCs in order to reduce the impact on health and the environment. The best materials to choose: slate, granite, soapstone, tiles (ceramic, glass and natural stone), quartz, concrete, stone and recycled glass.
